Romantic Destinations for Canadian Couples During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Unfortunately for us, the coronavirus has forced many of us to change our daily routines.. Businesses have shut down. Many plans have had to be altered. If you are planning a wedding or honeymoon, you may think that taking a vacation is out of the question.

Since the situation has started to improve, more flights have become available. . The prospect of going on a romantic tour around Canada is a real possibility! If you’re looking for romantic destinations in Canada, we’ve compiled a list that prioritizes safety (and a lot of fun) during the coronavirus pandemic.

1. Fogo Island, Newfoundland

Fogo Island might not have the most sandy beaches or Caribbean-like temperatures, but it offers you all the privacy you can ask for. It is common for newlyweds to want time together, and the inns at Fogo Island offer the perfect setting.

The cozy inns feature comfy bed and breakfasts and beautiful art galleries nearby to walk through and enjoy. Fogo Island’s main attraction is the Spartan beauty; it’s stunning, and it sets the destination apart when compared to other Canadian islands. Since the island is already very secluded, the coronavirus has had very little impact on daily life.

2. Rocky Mountains, British Columbia

When the rest of the world thinks of quintessential Canadian destinations, the Rocky Mountains come to mind. Spending time appreciating the snowy peaks will make it easy to see why people love visiting this tourist attraction. Like Fogo Island, this spot offers the perfect opportunity for seclusion if you’re a newly married couple.

You can spend your time camping in a tent in the backcountry, or if you’re hoping to relax surrounded by luxury, the Fairmont in British Columbia is one of the finest hotels in the country. This versatile site is a favourite for many honeymooners because it is as beautiful as it is versatile.

3. Vancouver, British Columbia

Vancouver is a remote (but very accessible) romantic getaway that is perfect for couples. One of the first spots to come to mind when you think of visiting Vancouver are Tofino and Victoria. Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is a place that has splendid sights and crannies that make your trip all the more worthwhile. No trip to Victoria is complete without enjoying tea at the Fairmont Express!

Since the spread of the coronavirus has started to slow down, tours have started opening up again, and flights are more accessible.. You can also visit the various restaurants and boutiques around the city to fully immerse yourself in Vancouver’s rich, warm culture and hospitality.

A drive out to Tofino is a must, too. People usually visit Tofino for the coastal setting along just a short drive from the city (perfect for a romantic evening with your new spouse).

While COVID-19 has challenged us to change many of the ways we live, postponing your honeymoon does not have to be one of them (especially with these and so many other amazing vacation options across Canada). We wish you all the best with planning your honeymoon!
